Get ready for next Friday, August 23rd, as we are pumped to have Buried Acorn Brewing Company taking over our taps!
Buried Acorn is an incredible brewery located in Syracuse, NY, and they specialize in Barrel-Aged Sour and Farmhouse Beer. (but don't worry hop heads, they throw some love your way.) The primary focus at Buried Acorn lies on the wild side of the spectrum. Funk Wrangler Timothy Lucien Shore has spent over a decade studying the world of mixed-fermentation Wild Ales through both industry experience and years of home brewing.
SO this Friday, get ready for some of their amazing brew at The Ruck! Check out the beer list below:
Calyces - This 6.8% ABV barrel-aged golden sour presents an assertively tart and funky blend aged on Hibiscus flowers. Aged 16 months in white wine barrels before hitting the blending tank for 2 months of aging and refermentation on hibiscus flowers. Then it is naturally carbonated in bottles or kegs. The result is a spritely little fruity number with an accentuated dry finish and a beautiful floral bouquet on the nose.
Apricotville - 7.2% ABV - A dry-hopped, Barrel-aged Golded Sour aged on apricots. Aged for a year and a half this funk forward sour delivers hay and mineral on the nose followed by a burst of tartness balanced by a substantial firmness of fruit flavor and toasty oak.
Stash Hero - 8.6% ABV - Double IPA brewed with 1886 Pale Malt, 1886 Red Winter Wheat Malt and a fuzzy amount of Moutere, Hallertau Blanc, and Manderina Bavaria Hops. Our nose gets grapefruit pith and white grape followed by a face hole full of pinapple, and spicy orange rind. #stayfuzzy
Hot Whip - 6% ABV - One of our lighter IPA offerings loaded with Centennial, Ekuanot, Boadicea, and Bramling Cross Hops.
Alpha Bender - 7.3% ABV - Soft bitterness with dank lemon on the nose and a crisp dry finish. Brewed as a rotating hop series. This one utilizies Galena, Columbia, Centennial and Chinook from The Bineyard in Casenovia, NY
Karaliene - 7.5% ABV In collaboration with Prison City Brewing in Auburn, NY, we made a dark saison named Karalienė (Lithuanian for "Queen"). Fig, raisin, and subtle chocolate malt notes accompany the expressive clove and pear character of this very special yeast sourced from the Queen of Lithuania Farmhouse Beer Aldona Udriene at Jovaru Alus.
We'll have some Buried Acorn guys in house talking shop and drinking some of their beers at The Ruck, come down and join in on the fun! Don't miss out on this incredible brewery! Cheers!
